Advanced Cooling and Lubrication for Precision Metalworking
We offer one of the most comprehensive selections of water-soluble metalworking coolants available, each formulated to deliver optimal performance for today’s demanding metalworking operations. Whether you’re operating CNC machines, lathes, mills, or grinders, our coolants are engineered to provide the right balance of lubricity and cooling to keep tools protected, parts precise, and operations productive.
From light machining to heavy-duty cutting, our team helps you choose the right coolant from hundreds of available formulations—because when it comes to water soluble coolants, one size never fits all.
Our Water-Soluble Coolant Options
We offer all three major categories of water-based coolants, giving you options for every application, material, and process:
Water Soluble Metalworking Coolant Oils
- High oil content (near 100%)
- Excellent lubricity
- Forms a stable oil-water emulsion
- Ideal for moderate to heavy machining
Semi-Synthetic Metalworking Coolants
- Blend of 10–50% oil with synthetic components
- Good cooling and lubricity balance
- Lower mist and foam compared to straight oils
- Great for CNC applications, turning, drilling, and grinding
Synthetic Metalworking Coolants
- Zero oil content
- Uses advanced chemical technology for lubrication and cooling
- Cleaner running with minimal residue
- Often used in grinding or high-speed light-duty machining

Why Are There So Many Metalworking Coolants?

Coolant technology has evolved to keep pace with modern machining demands. As new machines with higher speeds, pressures, and temperatures are developed, coolant formulations must adapt.
Most product families start with a core coolant formulation and then evolve into multiple variations by tweaking oil content, additives, anti-foam agents, biocides, and performance characteristics.
We dig deep into the product catalog to recommend the best solution—whether it’s a general-purpose fluid or a highly specialized coolant built to solve a specific challenge like foaming, tool wear, heat control, or machining exotic metals.
Water soluble coolants are essential in metalworking applications such as CNC machining, milling and turning, drilling and tapping, sawing and grinding, lathes and production centers.
These coolants form an oil-water emulsion:
- The oil component adheres to the tool and provides lubricity, reducing friction between the cutting edge and workpiece.
- The water component dissipates heat to prevent melting, warping, or tool degradation.
This dual-action formula is what makes water soluble coolants so effective—and so widely used.
Proper Use and Management
Coolants are typically sold as concentrates, which are then diluted to the proper ratio based on OEM specifications and application type.
- Most CNC machine applications call for a 5–10% concentrations
- Grinding operations may use lower ratios (as low as 3%)
- A refractometer and corresponding product-specific chart is used to accurately measure coolant concentration and ensure it’s within the recommended range
Keeping coolant at proper dilution improves performance, extends tool life, and reduces health and safety risks.
